I applied for my FAA Remote Pilot Certificate through IACRA but haven’t heard back yet. What should I do?

Haven’t heard from the FAA yet about your IACRA application?

You should get sent a confirmation email within about 5-10 days. This email will provide instructions for printing a copy of your temporary Remote Pilot Certificate from IACRA.

A permanent Remote Pilot Certificate card will be sent via mail once all other FAA-internal processing is complete. This usually takes 6-8 weeks.

Pro tip — you can log into your IACRA account, and if you see in your application that the “Temporary Certificate Issue box has been check-marked, that means that even though you may not have yet heard from the FAA, your application has successfully been approved, and you’re safe to start operating under the Part 107 regulations as a commercially licensed drone pilot.

And yes, even if your certificate number says “pending” in your temporary certificate, your airman certificate number will be on the hard copy certificate that arrives in the mail 6-8 weeks later.
